Providing help, hope, understanding, and advocacy for our neighbors in financial crisis for 35 years

Serving and Empowering low-income workers of Athens since 1989

The mission of The Ark is the same today as it was when it first opened its doors back in 1989: to continue to fulfill the vision of its founders by being an efficient, effective way for the religious community to pool resources and help people find self-sufficiency with hope and self-respect in the face of economic hardship.

The Ark provides emergency financial assistance, financial education, and asset building programs to low income working families when they are faced with an unexpected financial crisis. It is our vision to provide help, hope, understanding, and advocacy for our neighbors in financial crisis, helping them move toward self-sufficiency and stability.
